On April 28, Monday, the delegation from the University of Kerala (UoK) visited the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI), Havana, Cuba.
The Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI) is Cuba's leading institution for training diplomats and professionals in international affairs. Located in Havana, it is named after Raúl Roa García, Cuba's Foreign Minister from 1959 to 1976, known as the "Chancellor of Dignity" for his steadfast anti-imperialist stance.
ISRI offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs in areas such as international relations, diplomacy, international law, and regional studies. Its mission is to cultivate professionals who are committed to revolutionary diplomacy and the principles of Cuban foreign policy. [i]
ISRI coordinates the Cuban Network of Researchers on International Relations (REDINT), a digital platform that facilitates collaboration among academics, diplomats, and students. REDINT offers access to scientific publications, research projects, and academic events, promoting dialogue on global challenges.
On April 28, Monday, the UoK delegation was received at ISRI by Dr. C. Leonel Caraballo Maqueira, Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies, and discussions were held on conducting twinning programmes/ study in Cuba programme between the University of Kerala and ISRI. Both ISRI and the University of Kerala conduct MA/ PhD programmes in International Relations and Diplomacy.
