The Centre will support translators/ faculty members with a grant of up to Rs. 3 lakhs to complete the translation of Latin American works/literature into Malayalam and Hindi. The University of Kerala CLAS Translation Fellowships/Grants is a non-resident, remote fellowship designed to allow the recipient to complete the work outside the University. The awards will range from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 3 lakhs, depending on the scope of the project. Selected works may be retranslations of old, classic texts or previously untranslated works, colections of poetry, prose or critical theory related to Latin America. The project may be a work-in-progress or a new project that can be managed within the scope of the award.

This is a non-resident, remote fellowship program offered by the University of Kerala CLAS. The fellowship allows recipients to complete their translation work outside the University.

Selection Criteria
Applicants must have preferably published, alone or in collaboration, at least 20 pages of literary translation in digital or print publications or at least one book or other volume of translation of at least 20 pages or s/he must be a renowned scholar who has demonstrated expertise/proficiency in literary works in Malayalam/Hindi as outlined in their publications.
